Qualifications and Experience
My name is Mark Wrench and I have been working full-time in the fitness industry since October 2007. I completed a level 3 Health and Fitness Diploma at Kidderminster College in June 2007.
I began my career as a fitness instructor, working in the gym at the Wyre Forest Glades Leisure Centre in Kidderminster. Whilst working for D.C Leisure I had the opportunity to learn from some fantastic people working in the fitness industry and fantastic members attending the leisure centre.
I am committed to a lifetime of learning; I read up on health and fitness, anatomy and physiology most days of the week, and attend courses on a regular basis; I even listen to a lot of health and fitness-related audiobook, which helps keep me up-to-date. I enjoy innovating new fresh routines every month.
I am on the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) at Level 4, which is the highest level, and REPs is also where I obtain my public liability insurance for exercise instruction.
Whilst working for D.C Leisure I progressed to become a personal trainer and group exercise instructor, gaining many more qualifications. I started teaching more and more classes; to date, I teach or have taught: Circuits, Aerobics, Body Pump, Boxercise, Kettlebells, ViPR, Activity Referral, Yoga, Fall Prevention for Frailer Older Adults, Tai Chi, Core Strength, Core Fit, Core Ball and Active Seniors.
In 2009 I started teach a couple of classes on a self-employed basis, hiring local halls. As my classes outside of the Wyre Forest Glades Leisure Centre became more and more successful, I added to them, and have been fully self-employed since 2011.
I now teach the following 6 class types: Hatha Yoga, Flow Yoga and Pilates, Yang style Tai Chi, Tai Chi for Beginners, Modern Pilates and Active Seniors.
Enjoy your training.
